MINIMAL LOOK SL52 HI²
In the heart of Tribeca, where New York's industrial history meets modern urban living, 62-64 Reade Street is a symbol of the harmonious coexistence of old and new. A revival that respects the site's origins and highlights the detail of memory - the project draws inspiration from the lives of a couple which for decades lived and worked within these historic buildings.
ODA's architectural proposal reimagines the use of the buildings through a sensitivity to touch, light and history. Under the guidance of Triton Construction and with respect to the Landmarks Preservation Commission's guidelines, the stone facades are restored, and the joining of the two buildings is subtly achieved, leaving their "stitched" passage into the urban landscape evident.
